Lateral Hires: PK Law is currently seeking qualified lateral hires. Qualified candidates must have a minimum of five years of experience practicing law and a transferable book of business.
Litigation Associate (Towson): Seeking an Associate with two to five years of business and commercial litigation, insurance coverage, and regulatory litigation experience. Position will include the drafting of complex insurance coverage opinions. Candidates must have excellent writing, research, and analytical skills. Admission to Maryland Bar required.
Litigation Associate (Towson): Seeking an Associate with three to five years of litigation experience. Trial experience preferred. Candidates must have excellent writing, research, and analytical skills. Admission to Maryland Bar required.
Wealth Preservation Associate: Seeking an Associate with two to six years of estate planning experience. Candidate should have coursework in federal gift and estate tax and coursework in trusts and estates. Income tax, corporate experience and trust and estate administration coursework and experience is preferred. Drafting experience and aptitude required. Attention to detail is essential. This position will primarily focus on drafting estate planning documents and tax research. It will include training in elder law and probate. Excellent growth potential.

Management Staff:
The management staff at Pessin Katz Law, P.A., includes leadership positions in finance, human resources, information technology and marketing. The Chief Financial Officer, Chief Business Development Officer and Chief Human Resources Officer work together in overseeing various projects/initiatives for the firm as well as directing their respective department’s activities. The management staff is committed to supporting our attorneys to ensure the firm is able to provide the highest level of service to our clients.

Support Staff:
Our staff is dedicated to providing excellent client service. Support staff positions at Pessin Katz Law, P.A., include paralegals, legal administrative assistants, IT support, administrative/records clerks and other similar administrative support positions. A team approach is used throughout all of our departments providing a work environment that is collegial, supportive and flexible.
Legal Administrative Assistant (Towson): Opportunity available for Legal Administrative Assistant with a minimum of three years of strong administrative experience to work in our Wealth Preservation practice group to support attorney with large growing practice. Duties include, but not limited to:
- Interacting with clients by telephone, email, and/or in-person
- Managing attorney’s calendar, including scheduling meetings/calls
- Preparing correspondence and estate/business planning documents
- Assembling documents for client meetings
- Composing routine business correspondence
- Maintaining files, including opening/closing client files
- Coordinating monthly billing with Accounting Department and clients; assisting with client/vendor accounts, including accounts receivable and client collections
- Assisting with maintaining business relationships with client representatives, including financial advisors, CPAs, attorneys, and agents
- Coordinating workflow with supervisor, other attorneys, and paralegals
- Other similar/related administrative duties
In addition to a minimum of three years of strong administrative experience, additional qualifications include excellent written and oral communication skills, proactive work ethic, attention to detail (including excellent proofreading skills), good problem solving skills/judgment, and ability to coordinate multiple tasks/deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong day-to-day organizational skills are essential, in addition to the ability to prioritize tasks, having a client-service focus, and having a strong sense of teamwork. Must have proficiency in Microsoft Word.
Paralegal/Case Manager (Towson): Seeking an Elder Law Paralegal/Case Manager with at least three years of experience with preparing Medicaid claims. Duties include preparing and submitting medical assistance applications; interviewing prospective clients; preparing client summaries; and drafting medical consents, advanced health care directives and other similar documents. Qualified candidates will possess Paralegal degree or experience equivalent. Additional qualifications include excellent analytical and organizational skills and ability to work as part of a team. Strong communication, interpersonal and project management skills essential.
Receptionist (Towson): Responsibilities include answering internal and external calls, maintaining conference rooms and reception area, interacting with clients/visitors and performing general clerical tasks. Requires minimum of one year of administrative/clerical experience. Hours: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Monday through Friday.
Support Assistant/Proofreader: Opportunity available for a Support Assistant/Proofreader for Wealth Preservation practice group. Responsibilities include comparing legal documents to ensure accuracy of the information presented, some typing/document scanning and other related administrative tasks. Requires exceptional attention to detail and data entry/computer skills. Ideal for English major.
