Pessin Katz Law, P.A., (PK Law), is proud to announce that attorney, Tiffany S. Franc has been named to The Daily Record’s 2011 list of Maryland’s Leading Women. The Daily Record’s list of Leading Women identifies 50 women who are 40 years of age or younger for the tremendous accomplishments they have made so far in their careers.  An event was held on December 1, 2011 to honor the winners.

Ms. Franc was selected for this honor because of her significant professional accomplishments, despite a tumultuous background.  When Ms. Franc was just three years old she was placed in Baltimore County Social Services (“DSS”).  DSS made numerous attempts to terminate her biological parents’ rights, and after an attempt that made it to Maryland’s Court of Special Appeals failed, she decided to “force the hand” of her biological parents. With the help of a local family law attorney, Ms. Franc filed a petition with the court essentially “divorcing” her parents, something that had not been attempted in Maryland. Tiffany remarked that, “it was the child behind the Gregory K. case out of Florida in the early 90’s that inspired me.”  On the day her Petition was set to be heard, her biological parents finally consented to the adoption. Finally at the age of twelve, Ms. Franc was adopted by the foster family she had resided with since the age of three.

Today Ms. Franc is an associate at PK Law and concentrates her practice in Bankruptcy and Family Law.  She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law in December of 2009.  While attending law school she was a bankruptcy paralegal, and upon graduating, she clerked for the Honorable Nancy V. Alquist of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.  In addition to her professional accomplishments, Ms. Franc is very dedicated to her community.  She is an exclusive attorney member of ProBusiMoms, a networking, philanthropic, non-profit organization supporting and connecting professional and entrepreneurial moms in the Anne Arundel County community.  She is an active member of the Charm City Alumni Group of Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority, the Maryland State Bar Association and the Baltimore County Bar Association. She has been a member of the planning committee for Baltimore County National Adoption Day and has twice been the keynote speaker for the Baltimore County National Adoption Day.
