Lateral Hires: PK Law is currently seeking qualified lateral hires.

Litigation Associate:  Opportunity available for Associate with a minimum of two years’ litigation experience.   Candidates should have excellent writing, research, and analytical skills.   Trial experience and admission to Maryland Bar required. DC Bar membership a plus.

Medical Malpractice Associate: Opportunity available for Associate with three to five years’ medical malpractice or personal injury experience.  Candidates should have excellent writing, research and analytical skills. Admission to Maryland Bar required.

Management Staff:

The management staff at Pessin Katz Law, P.A., includes leadership positions in finance, human resources, information technology and marketing.  The Chief Financial Officer, Chief Business Development Officer, Chief Information Officer, and Chief Human Resources Officer work together in overseeing various projects/initiatives for the firm as well as directing their respective department’s activities.   The management staff is committed to supporting our attorneys to ensure the firm is able to provide the highest level of service to our clients.

Support Staff:

Our staff is dedicated to providing excellent client service.  Support staff positions at Pessin Katz Law, P.A., include paralegals, legal administrative assistants, IT support, administrative/records clerks and other similar  administrative support positions.   A team approach is used throughout all of our departments providing a work environment that is collegial, supportive and flexible.

Current Openings:

Legal Administrative Assistant:  Opportunity available in Columbia office (small office size and near the mall)  for Legal Administrative Assistant with a minimum of one to two years of strong litigation experience.  Responsibilities include providing administrative support to two attorneys in Medical Malpractice Defense group.  Will also handle receptionist responsibilities.  Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Preparing pleadings and filing documents with the courts and/or administrative agencies, including e-filing
  • Scheduling depositions
  • Composing routine business correspondence
  • Scheduling/arranging meetings
  • Coordination of attorneys’ calendars
  • Processing invoices
  • Greeting visitors and setting up conference rooms for meetings
  • Distribution of office mail
  • Other similar administrative/receptionist duties

In addition to a minimum of one to two years of strong litigation experience, additional qualifications include excellent written and oral communication skills, proactive work ethic, attention to detail and ability to coordinate multiple tasks/deadlines.  Strong day-to-day organizational skills, a client service focus and ability to work as part of a team are essential.  Must have proficiency in Microsoft Word with a minimum typing speed of 55 wpm.
